As reported by Le Parisien, PSG will have to exclude a first-team player for the knockout stages of the Champions League as their squad remains too big.
Tonight, PSG will have to present their 25-man group for the Champions League round of 16 tie against Real Madrid later this month. The squad must include at least eight players trained at the club or in France and a maximum of 17 players considered "foreign", however, PSG has 18 players who fall into the latter category.
Goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who left for Mallorca in January, and left-back Juan Bernat, who was recovering from a serious knee injury, were left out of PSG's group stage squad and Bernat could be the player who drop out of the call again with a Nuno Mendes who is doing very well and other options on the left side behind him.
Either way, a midfielder could also be excluded with Julian Draxler, Ander Herrera or Georginio Wijnaldum as possible candidates for their role as foreigners.
