PSG tried to hire Zidane during the winter market

A year after his arrival at PSG, Mauricio Pochettino's record looks more than questionable. Despite a heavily beefed-up squad this summer, the Argentine coach struggles to exploit the potential of his players, losing titles and rarely winning in style.

Aware of the problem his team is subjected to, the Parisian board would have tried to hire Zinedine Zidane this winter. Touted as a possible manager of Manchester United since the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Pochettino should not last long on the bench of the Parisian side.

Although he may end up leaving at the end of the season, PSG would have tried, according to Le Parisien, to dismiss their coach this winter after studying several possible replacements. Judging the context as 'inappropriate', Zidane would have rejected the Parisian offer.

According to Téléfoot, the former Real Madrid player and coach was reluctant to face the merengue team so quickly. In addition, the French world champion would have certain opinions regarding the PSG squad, as well as its internal workings.

Given the impossibility of signing Zidane this winter, the club will have to continue its adventure with Pochettino, whose main objective is the coveted Champions League, a competition in which, like last year, Paris hopes to transcend. The objective is clear, eliminate Madrid and send a message to Europe.
